Makeup Tips for the Beautiful Blushing Bride
Beautiful bridal make-up is romantic, classical and most importantly a reflection of your personality. Whether choosing a natural, fresh look or a sexy glamorous make-up for your wedding, the following tips will ensure you look your absolute best!
Complexion
• Foundation evens out your skin tone so you look polished in your professional photos. It should be applied over the entire face. It doesn’t need to be heavy, however a sheer application will smooth out your skin tone and minor flaws.
• Choose an oil-free, liquid formula that matches your face and neck. It will help prevent shine during the day and last without fading.
• Next apply concealer with a small brush under your eyes and to the inner corners to brighten. Apply it onto your eyelids and set with powder to create a flawless eye shadow base. Lastly cover any imperfections that were not covered by your foundation. You should choose a shade that matches your skin. For extra brightening under the eyes choose a half shade lighter and for hard to cover shadows choose one shade darker than your skin.
• Finish everything off by dusting sheer loose powder over your face, concentrating in the T-Zone to minimize shine.
Eyebrows
• Well-groomed and beautifully arched brows frame your face, enhancing your eyes. They should look natural yet clean. Fill in sparse areas with an angle brush and a taupe shade of eye shadow that closely matches your brows. Brush through with a clear mascara to soften and set.
Liner & Mascara
• Black eye liner applied to the upper lash line after eye shadow will give beautiful definition in your photos. For a smoky look use a pencil and smudge out with a matching shadow. For a cat eye try liquid liner. Top off with three coats of rich black mascara to your top and bottom lashes. To makes eyes really pop try a set of natural looking, but voluminous false lashes!
Cheeks
• Shades of baby pink, rose, pinky coral and delicate peach work best to brighten your skin and give you a romantic glow. Avoid too much bronzer if possible as it can make the skin appear muddy. For a sunny glow apply a hint of bronzer together with pretty pale pink.
• Apply your blush to the upper apples of your cheeks, blending in an upward circular motion along the cheekbones. Don’t skimp on blush as some photography lighting can make your skin look pale.
Lips
• Apply a bit of your foundation over your lips to create a lasting base.
• Define the lips along the upper lip line with a natural looking lip liner similar to your own natural lipcolour. This will match with most shades of lipstick, and make your lips appear fuller.
• For a soft, sexy look fill in with a rosy neutral, soft pink or soft coral. Blot with a tissue, lightly dust with sheer powder and reapply. For a pop of shine apply a small dab of gloss at the centre of your mouth.
Last but not least, mist everything with MIYU’s hydrate mi beauty essence to set and refresh makeup.

A bride’s happy glow and radiant beauty is what we remember most from her special day, so skincare and make-up are two of the most important elements in bridal planning. Many brides leave this part of their planning to the last minute, often leading to disappointment. The following make-up artist tips will help you prepare your bridal beauty in the months leading up to your wedding.
1) Book a make-up artist early, at least 6 months in advance. The best make-up artists book up quickly. Review their on-line portfolio and make the extra investment of booking a trial. It will be well worth it!
2) Begin taking extra care of your health and skin months before wedding day. Eat healthy food, drinks lots of water and stay well rested. Add a healthy tea and facial essence to your regime. MIYU hydrate mi and de-stress mi beauty teas nourish from the inside out for healthy glowing skin, while the MIYU Beauty Essences boost the results of your skincare regime.
3) Keep MIYU de-stress mi beauty essence in your purse as a mid-day refresher and moisture boost. Both beauty essences are perfect in the Winter when the skin is dry as well as in the Summertime after sun exposure.
4) Use gentle, perfume-free skin care products appropriate for your skin type or skin condition.
5) Keep it simple with a gentle cleanser, toner, skin essence/serum and lastly a lightweight moisturizer.
6) Use an SPF if you are going in the sun and avoid tanning beds as they age and dehydrate the skin which can look unflattering in bridal photos.
7) Avoid harsh skin treatments in the month leading up to your wedding. Waxing/hair removal should never be done in the week leading up to the wedding.
8) Full, natural but neatly groomed eyebrows are the most flattering for the face and frame your eyes. If you have over-tweezed your eyebrows begin growing them in the year leading up to your wedding. Work with a trusted brow expert to assist you in getting a nice shape.
9) In planning your dream make-up, look to classical romantic beauty as inspiration. Nothing dates your wedding pictures more than a trendy make-up look. Have lots of inspirational pictures ready to show your make-up artist.
10) Lastly begin investing in the make-up pieces you will need as touch-up items on wedding day: pressed powder, lipstick, lip gloss and a purse-size MIYU beauty essence to refresh your skin!
Stay tuned until next time for some bridal application tips.
